All the Dad's who participated in the recent Springboard initiative in schools in the Navan Area were presented with certificates with a huge crowd in attendance. There was much joy at the occasion and the children all attended as well. Mayor Joe Reilly officiated at the event which was co-hosted by Se Fulham and Pat Mullaney. The attendees also had the opportunity to meet with Paddy O Brien, the recent choice of the public and the committee in the Name the Street competition. Paddy, a native of Navan has been a stall worth promoter and participant in youth in sport at the Navan O Mahonys football and hurling club for over 60 years. Paddy is still as active as ever and expressed his enormous gratitude to those who had supported his name for this event and more importantly for Paddy the number of young people He has had the privilege to work with over his many happy years in Sport. Paddy also referred to the association of the competition with Special Olympics. He said that he has always encouraged gratitude amongst his charges over the years and was particularly delighted with the oppertunities now being enjoyed by all members of society to participate in sport.
