Bergin Family Butchers in Navan Town Centre shopping mall was recently officially opened by local celebrity TV presenter Hector Ó hEochagáin. Huge crowds gathered to join in the celebrations and enjoyed sampling many of the delicious meats, ready meals and home baked treats on offer. Hector was on hand to cut the ribbon and shower the unsuspecting onlookers with champagne! He was joined by LMFM radio who were also there to mark the occasion, in giving away numerous gift vouchers and spot prizes to listeners and passers-by.
Bergin Family Butchers was formerly named The Butchers Emporium on opening its doors a number of months ago. However owner Dermot Bergin decided to rename his Navan premises for the official opening, in response to several queries from customers as to who actually owned the shop!
“People like to know who they are dealing with when it comes to meat” said Dermot. With this in mind and the impending 50th anniversary of his family’s involvement in the meat trade, he decided there had never been a more opportune time to put the family name above the door. With three butchers shops in the Bergin name and half a century of butchering experience, customers can rest assured they are dealing with a highly reputable establishment.
Dermot says of the new name and new look shop “Customers can expect business as usual; the same friendly staff, the same quality meats, the same fresh produce and the same excellent service, all that is changing is the name”.
